UNIPODS is currently developing a new product for the UAE market to expand its product offering with a full turn-key washroom solution for commercial buildings such as offices, schools, shopping malls and sport facilities and hotel lobbies.

UNIBOARDS is a washroom solution for commercial buildings, based on a Ready Plumbed Modular system – an innovative system currently used with success in Europe. The UNIBOARDS Ready Plumbed Modules are ready made units providing washroom facilities. The Ready Plumbed Modules are manufactured off-site in a factory-controlled environment, delivered to site and installed by UNIPODS. The frames are all pre-assembled from the factory, fitted with access panels and sanitary and brassware, delivered on-site ready for installation.

Washroom construction traditionally involves a large number of trades – up to 5 – competing for time and space in a small and confined area, possibly impacting project deadlines. Shortage of skilled labour, complexity of timber framing, plumbing in confinement combined with the logistics issues associated with the large number of suppliers involved can also impact on quality and cause other expensive delays.

With the UNIBOARDS system, the full sanitary panels are manufactured off-site in a factory–controlled environment by a fully skilled and trained workforce, ensuring a consistently high quality throughout the process. The installation is a quick, simple and deskilled process that dramatically reduces labor numbers on-site. An independent research by QPM has found that using RPM’s reduces installation time by up to 75% and costs by up to 20 %, predominantly driven by a reduction in labour costs.

The UNIBOARDS solution is currently being developed to suit the UAE market, and it will be launched at the Big 5 Exhibition held in November 2008.
